Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation refers to a system of school based assessment that covers all aspects of student’s development. It emphasizes two fold objectives.Continuity in evaluation and assessment of broad based learning.

CCE helps in reducing stress of students by

Identifying learning progress of students at regular time intervals on small portions of content.

Important Points

CCE will cover the scholastic and co scholastic areas of school education.
The two types of assessment referred to in the circular are formative and summative. The periodicity of the two types of assessment are four and twice a year respectively.
Formative Assessment totals to 40% weightage.
Summative Assessment totals to 60% weightage.
There are nine grades in Part A of Scholastic assessment and Part B of the same assessment has five grades.
Summative assessment covers non academic areas like attitudes and skills and there are three grades.
If a student secures Grade 6 in the academic areas his/her marks would range from 51% to 60%.
CCE advocates absolute grading. This means that Grade 9 would imply an A2 grade.

Admission Module

All aspects of Admission process are handled in pre-defined sequence as follows:

Application Form – Each form is identified by Unique ID which is printed on the form along with BAR CODE
- Parents can submit application form over internet from School Web-site or/and from eTechSchool site.
- Optionally form can be printed, filled up and later submitted at the School
- Forms can be obtained from the school
- Form captures name, address and contact details along with mobile and email
- Instructions in different languages can be printed on the Application form
FEES for Application Form / Admission Process
- Fees can be paid in CASH at school
  - At the time of submitting ‘Filled-up’ form OR
  - At the time of obtaining blank form
- Fees can be paid thru Demand Draft; this facility is useful for parents seeking admission from other cities
- Receipt is produced in name of the student along with office-copy along with BAR CODED receipt number
- System provides full accounting functionality including daily/periodical cashier-wise reports
Conducting Entrance Test / Interview (Multiple Tests possible)
- Schedule (Date, Session (Morning/Afternoon), Medium (English/Marathi)) is made available to Parents on-line and also printed on Application form for easy selection
- School administration can define Virtual Classrooms to conduct test in well administered groups wherein each applicant, after paying fees, is assigned a Seat No.
- Admit Card/Hall Card is printed for each applicant which can be used to affix Student photograph
- Test Instructions in different languages can be printed on the Application form
- Admit card is e-mailed and details sent to registered mobile thru SMS.
- Test marks, attendance are captured thru system function.
- Shortlisted candidates are informed of NEXT test/interview
Selection is carried out on Shortlisted candidates

Progress Monitoring

Attendance Module

Attendance for Students and Staff

Teaching and non-teaching staff (Integrated with Alert and Leave Accounting modules)

Leave - Staff Leave Accounting and Student Leave Accounting

Staff Leave module supports all types of leaves and leave accounting. System allows defining the rules for each type of leave. For each leave type following rules / parameters can be set:

Whether Eligibility is Grade dependent – If Yes parameters can be defined at Grade Level
Annual Eligibility
c. Whether leave Credits can be carried forward / accumulated?

If yes what is the limit of accumulated balance

Whether Half day Leave is allowed?

Module supports:

Online Leave application
Application alert for approver through SMS, email.
Authorization by designated Authority/Approver to Approval/Rejection with comments. (Routing of Application)
Application approver/cancellation alert for applicant through SMS, email.
Absentees are captured through Attendance system and Leave applications are automatically generated.
Depending on Institute policy ‘Consecutive Late Marks’ are converted to Leave as Penalty.
When year Changes Staff are credited with new Leave Values for applicable Leave types
Pro-rata values are calculated when Staff joins (Credits) / leaves(Debits) organization in the middle of academic year.
In case of Student, when an action is taken his/her parents are also be notified through SMS, e-mail.

FEES Collection and Accounting

Academic Year Fee structure can be defined for each Standard (Amount and Due Date).
Fees for optional services/facilities, additional courses, co-curricular activities, events can also be defined.
School / Government Scholarships details are captured and taken into account for Fees accounting.
Fees module also takes into account Government concessions for particular categories of students.
Fees may be collected thru Cheque / Demand Draft / Cash.
In case of CASH denomination-wise numbers of notes exchanged (In/Out) are captured.
All Cashiering Reports including ‘End-of-Day’ reports are generated.
Allocation of payments against Fee-dues (pending transactions) is carried out on FIFO basis.
Parents and Class-InCharge are alerted on pending fees.
Alert based on pending fees can be raised while issuing certain School Certificate(s) to Student.

Homework and Assignment Module

Homework and Assignments are specified by the TEACHER for all the STUDENTS of the DIVISION. There may not be much difference in the way Homework and Assignments are handled.

Set Homework using QB Questions/Answers related to a particular CHAPTER or Syllabus-Topic in Q-Bank may be useful in defining HOMEWORK mainly because ANSWERs are available. STUDENTs may be given controlled access (‘After Homework is Completed’/’After STUDENT has Attempted’) to make the whole exercise more meaningful.
Homework can be evaluated graded/marked.
STUDENT may be WARNed on continual failure to complete the HOMEWORKs; parents may also be ALERTed.
Another approach could be to have pre-set HOMEWORKs for each topic/chapter and STUDENTs are expected to complete the same as Topics/Chapters are taught in the class.
Module function can be used to enter grade/marks, comments for each student for particular Homework / Assignment
Mobile Application to collect STUDENT-wise marks, say 1 to 9, for all the assigned Homework(s) is being developed.
For lower standards Parents can be notified of the homework / assignments

Library Module

Library module helps Schools/Colleges (Institutes) to maintain library books along with the basic library functions of loaning books (‘Issue’ and ‘Return’) to Students / Staff and others. Books can be borrowed from ‘OTHER’ institutes/Libraries/individuals. Similarly books can be lent to ‘OTHER’ institutes/Libraries/individuals.

The module maintains Publishers data, Book details under Publisher / Author and can be linked to ISBN information.
Each copy of the Book / Media is separately tagged and kept track of. Book storage information – Cabinet / Shelf etc. is also maintained.
Books can be RFID tagged or BAR Coded or Institute ID system can be followed.
Different rules (No of Books, initial period, extension period, number of extensions) can be set for Staff and Students. Alerts can be generated for books not returned after specified period limit. Fine can be charged for ‘Very Late Returns’ depending on Institute policy. If Book is not available, ‘Request for the Book’ can be queued.

Task Management Module

TASK – Setting Up, Allocation and Monitoring Module provides the following functionality:

Define Task and set priority Ex. “Complete Answer Paper Evaluation for MidTerm by 14 Aug 12”.
Assign task to Individual or ‘Each member of Group’ Ex. ‘All Class Teachers’
Set Target date for Task Completion for each Assignee.
Assignee reports progress along with comment.
Assigner can keep track of assigned tasks; can view progress and ‘comment’ on the progress.
TASK may PROGRESS, get COMPLETED or could be re-SCHEDULED or SUSPENDED.
Pre-defined tasks can be linked to future EVENTs; such tasks are auto-generated and assigned based on criteria set.

RFID/Barcode Device, GPS tracking device Integration

RFID stands for ‘Radio Frequency IDentity’. The physical card with each having unique identity is assigned to each Student / Staff (Teaching , Non-Teaching). This system is OPTIONAL and may not be used by the Institute. RFID system is used for ATTENDANCE, Bus School and Library.

RFID Readers (Short range or Long Range) are installed at Entry/Exit points to capture Staff/Students movements. RFID Readers are configured to communicate with the Application server where raw data received thru Reader(s) is processed in real-time. All Attendance related processing is based on such data.

For Library system RFID card can be used along with hand-held RFID Reader or like SWIPE Card to establish identity of the Borrower.

If School bus is fitted with RFID Reader, Student RFID card drives the entire functionality of School Bus Module. Functionality can be further enhanced if Bus is also fitted with GPS device (Vehicle Tracking System).
